Drawing sustenance from a childhood spent on the rural coastlines of Falmouth, an upbringing as a Quaker, and the romantic visions of William Blake, UK Gothic marks a new direction from the band: a collage of fabled urban backwaters and biblical landscapes, where petrol stations, shopping centres, and Lewisham flytips play host to the congregations, Easter Sundays and Holy Wars.
