H31R and Niecy Blues will play a co-headline show at Paper Dress Vintage, London, on Wednesday 3rd April.
H31R blends electronica and hip hop together creating an enigmatic but complementary sonic experience that pushes the fickle boundaries of genre. Their latest album ‘HeadSpace’, released via Big Dada, was rated by Pitchfork as one of the top 10 Hip-Hop Albums of 2023.
The music of Niecy Blues transposes reverie and reckoning into emotive devotionals of keys, guitar, bass, synth, and bewitched voice, steeped in sacred atmospheres gleaned from a youth spent in a religious Oklahoma household. Boomkat said of her debut album ‘Exit Simulation’; “Has there been a more striking, fully formed debut this year? we think maybe not. Niecy Blues draws effortless parallels between gospel and experimental production, but rather than taking a left turn like Klein, she follows an opiated route through R&B x Jazz Ambient shimmers, somewhere between Erykah Badu, Dawuna, Martina Topley-Bird, and Kelela.”
