Basia Bulat

Monday 21 March
Unfortunately Basia Bulat show at Omeara on March 21st has been cancelled. We’re sorry that this gig cannot go ahead as originally planned. Ticket holders will be contacted directly and refunds issued from point of purchase.
Basia Bulat has shared the following statement:
Hi friends,
A note I’m very sad to be writing – we are cancelling our European and UK shows scheduled for February & March. All tickets will be refunded via the original point of purchase.  I am so incredibly disappointed but given the ever-changing rules and regulations in the 11 countries we were scheduled to visit and our great desire to keep you, my band and crew safe we are unable to make the tour work at this time. After two years of being away from the road I have missed touring so much, and it breaks my heart to accept that it’s not time yet. So many of you have told me you’ve seen me twice, three or four times, sometimes even more – and I always feel so welcomed and at home no matter how far from home I am because of your beautiful faces singing along. I never take it for granted and I really hope that it won’t be long before things are more settled and we can sing together again. Sending you all so much love.

Her first two albums, the folk-music-tinted Oh, My Darling (2007) and Heart of My Own (2010) were recorded in analogue with punk-rock producer Howard Bilerman; 2004’s Tall Tall Shadow, exploring friendship and grief, was made with Mark Lawson and Arcade Fire’s Tim Kingsbury; 2016’s Good Advice—a break-up album—and 2019’s Are You in Love? were produced in Kentucky and Joshua Tree (respectively) with My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James. In addition to her powerhouse voice, Bulat is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, recording and performing on electric guitar, piano, autoharp, ukulele, bass and charango.
